Deputy Chief Public Defender Keith Watson

WatsonMr. Watson brings extensive trial experience to the Office of the Public Defender, along with a fighting spirit and a strong sense of justice for the indigent accused.  For many years, he has been an “A-level” attorney and a “Specialty Delinquency” attorney, zealously representing both adults and juveniles accused of life offenses. 

He has been a Lawyer/Guardian ad Litem, giving a voice to the most vulnerable of clients in child welfare cases.  He has taught trial advocacy at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, he has taught the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program at Widener University Law School, and he has been a facilitator for Criminal Defense Attorneys Association of Michigan. 

Mr. Watson believes in the principle offered by Gen. James N. Mattis, USMC retired, “Fight joyfully.”
