Jared was born and raised in southern Ohio before coming to Michigan to pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer. He graduated with honors from Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he participated in moot court and moot trial, served as president of the Christian Legal Society, and was the recipient of the Certificate of Merit and Excellence in Leadership Award. For the last ten years, he managed a statewide solo practice primarily focusing on criminal defense while serving as a court appointed attorney in Ingham County where he defended juveniles and adults accused of serious felonies. His passion and experience for defending the Constitutional rights of those accused of crimes led him to continue working for those who cannot afford legal counsel by joining the Office of the Public Defender.
He enjoys baseball and volunteering his time for organizations like the Student Statesmanship Institute and Michigan Youth in Government as a board member.
