Tyler A Smith is a lifelong Michigan resident, originally from the Lansing area. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in music, served in the United States Navy, and received his Juris Doctor degree from Michigan State University College of Law.
Following law school, Mr. Smith worked on campaign finance law compliance for Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum, took minutes for the Ingham County Board of Commissioners, and acted as a Research Clerk and Court Officer for the Honorable Wanda M. Stokes, 30th Circuit Court Judge. Mr. Smith then went into private practice in Okemos, handling civil litigation, administrative law, criminal law, prisoner appeals, probate estates, estate planning, and a variety of other matters.
Mr. Smith is admitted in both federal District Courts in Michigan.
In his spare time, Mr. Smith enjoys playing jazz and blues piano and Hammond organ, playing Go, indulging various hobbies, and, most of all, spending time with his family.
