Covered picnic shelters are located in the Dallas Park (four), North Belmont Park (three), Tryon Park (two), and the Bessemer City Park (two). Reservations are taken for the eleven covered picnic shelters on a first come first serve basis. You may reserve large shelters (40' x 40') or Small shelters (20' x 20'). To reserve a shelter or for more information call 704-922-2160.

Ballfield Usage
Applications may be mailed to the address on the facility usage form or emailed to gilbert.aguirre@gastongov.com. You can download the form from the county website or contact the recreation dept. Applications received after December 30 will not be guaranteed any time on Gaston County fields. Staff will review all applications and send field confirmations. If you have an outstanding balance due your application will be held until the balance is paid in full.
We receive athletic field requests from many different organizations and teams. Please keep this in mind when requesting time for your organization. A good rule of thumb is to limit requests to two (2) practice times per team per week – especially for heavily used fields.

Equestrian Facilities:
The equestrian facilities located in the Dallas park can be reserved by calling the Recreation Department. In County Fees include a per day charge for use of the arena, a per night fee for use of lights, a fee per stall, per day, or partial day, a fee per day for RV Hookups, and a clean up fee.
